KIMPIRA GOBOU

INGREDIENTS (for four people)

·2 gobou (burdock stick)
·1/2 carrot
·2 tbsps oil
·1 dried red pepper
·a little roasted sesami

·1 tbsp sugar
·1 tbsp soy sauce
·1 tbsp mirin
·1 tbsp sake


1. Peel gobou and cut it in thin strips of 5cm length. Soak it in water for at least 10 minutes.
2. Peel carrot and cut it in thin strips of 5cm length.
3. Slice red pepper and remove seeds.
4. Heat oil in a pan. Add red pepper and gobou. Fry over high flame.
5. Mix carrot and fry quickly.
6. Add A and cook at low heat until liquid boils down. Do not burn it!
7. Garnish with sesami.
8. Say "itadaki masu".
