OYAKO DONBURI
(Rice Topped with Chicken and egg)

INGREDIENTS for four people
·4 cups steamed rice
·200g (approx. ½ lb) chicken meat
·1 onion
·4 eggs (medium size)

sause -A-
·1½ cups soup stock (if possible)
·3 tbsps suger
·2 tbsps sake (or 2 tbsps white wine)
·4 tbsps soy sause



1. Cut chicken meat into 2cm (approx. 1 inch) cubes. Slice onion.
2. Boil sause-A- in a shallow pan, and add chicken and onion. Cook until chicken is done (5-6 minutes).
3. Add beaten eggs and cover with a lid until egg is half cooked. Then turn off the heat.
4. Put steamed rice in indivisual bowls and put 3. on rice.
5. Say "Itadaki masu" and eat it with the chopsticks.
